VOLUNTEER
OPPORTUNITIES
Dental Clinics provide low-cost dental
care for persons without insurance and who could not otherwise afford
care. Local Dentists and Assistants donate one day per month of
professional services to staff the clinic. Additional Dentists licensed
to practice in the State of Tennessee are needed.
Work Camps provide no cost home repairs
for the elderly and for other eligible area residents. Repairs include
painting, roofing, repairing porches and floors, building steps
and ramps, and a host of other projects. Occasionally groups do
major remodeling projects. Each group furnishes all the tools and
supplies for the project they select.
Work Camp Goals are:
To make homes safe, accessible and dry.
To make homes warm in the winter and as
cool as possible in summer.
And to make homes more pleasant to live
in.
Our Work Camps which were traditionally summer
projects for Youth and their Adult Leaders have been expanded to
include spring and fall dates for Adult Groups.
Groups coming for one-day Work Projects
clean up around the grounds, rake leaves, repair equipment, paint,
and do a host of other chores. Often one-day projects serve to introduce
a new group to the volunteer opportunities at RRM. And some of these
groups come back the next year for weeklong Work Camps.

Other Volunteer Opportunities include
sizing and sorting clothing at the Thrift Store, stocking the food
shelves, helping with mailings or helping to deliver Home-Delivered
Meals. Groups of Volunteers are needed from Thanksgiving through
the first week of December each year to stock and operate the Christmas
Toy Store. For a list of Volunteer Opportunities call Lorie Hutcheson
at (731) 538-9970.
