OUR FUNDING

Reelfoot Rural Ministries is funded through multiple sources. But the majority of our support comes from Churches and Individuals who believe in giving a "hand up" to those who are in need.

Approximately 8% ($56,400) of our funding comes from the State of Tennessee through Childcare Certificates, the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Agency on Aging. We generate another 16% ($113,000) of our funding through various program fees such as Income-Based Day Care Fees, "Dime-to-Dollar" Thrift Store sales, Work Camp Fees, etc.

But, by far, our greatest amount of support ($520,000) comes from Churches and Individuals. We offer numerous giving opportunities to encourage these gifts.

Honorariums & Memorials

Honorariums and memorials are one of our most popular avenues for giving. Upon receipt of your gift, acknowledgements are mailed to the honoree or to the designated family member of those memorialized. Then names are published each quarter in the RRM Newsletter as a visible Thank You to our donors and to those they honor and memorialize.

Angels Watching Over Us

Our monthly donation program is called "Angels Watching Over Us".  Many "Angels" support RRM with regular monthly donations, which help provide RRM with a more steady income.

If you are interested in becoming one of RRM's "Angels," please copy and complete the form below and return it to Reelfoot Rural Ministries as instructed.

Upon request RRM provides 12 pre-addressed envelopes for "Angels who find the envelopes to be a convenient reminder each month.

Campbell's Labels

RRM collects labels from Campbell's and Campbell's owned food products. The labels are exchanged for day care equipment and supplies. Currently we are working on a two-year goal of 1,500,000 labels with which to purcase a new day care van. Information regarding eligible labels is available from the Campbell's web site, www.labelsforeducation.com.

Designated Gifts

In addition to cash gifts "to be used where most needed," gifts may be designated to any program. Some of the most popular designations are:

Support-a-Child Scholarships: $8.00 per day, $40.00 for a week, $160.00 for a month, or $1,920 for a year provide scholarships for our Day Care children. Scholarships supplement the income-based fees paid by parents, and make it possible for all children to afford childcare at RRM.

Senior Meals: $18.50 feeds a Homebound Senior for a week, including the cost of delivery. Your gift (whatever the amount), when designated to "Senior Meals" helps us feed those who otherwise might go hungry.

Gifts of Assets

For many donors, gifts of assets to charitable organizations may offer tax benefits. RRM is a 501 (c) (3) tax-deductible charity, and encourages such gifts of stocks, bonds, automobiles and real estate. For additional information about the advantages of these gifts, contact your tax accountant or call RRM at (731) 538-9970.

Planned Gifts

More and more thoughtful individuals are making plans for continuing support of RRM and their other favorite charities after death. Without such planning, those organizations that benefit from your current generosity will miss your support when you are gone. But through Bequests, Life Insurance, a variety of Trusts and other plans, you can continue your support. Please remember RRM in your will if you have not already done so.
